9/28 [A], 9/29 [B]: Quiz-SAT Vocabulary (2.1)

*NOTE: This quiz will cover the words AMBIDEXTROUS to CHAUVANIST. It will be used to evaluate student knowledge of definitions, related forms, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, and their ability to make inferences and use context clues when completing sentences.

9/30 [A], 10/03 [B]: Quiz-SAT Vocabulary (2.2)

*NOTE: This quiz will cover the words DELUDE to OSTENTATIOUS. It will be used to evaluate student knowledge of definitions, related forms, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, and their ability to make inferences and use context clues when completing sentences.

10/4 [A], 10/5 [B]: Quiz-SAT Vocabulary (2.3)

*NOTE: This quiz will cover the words BLIGHT to FALLOW. It will be used to evaluate student knowledge of definitions, related forms, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, and their ability to make inferences and use context clues when completing sentences.

10/6 [A], 10/7 [B]: Quiz-SAT Vocabulary (2.4)

*NOTE: This quiz will cover the words FEALTY to OBSEQUY. It will be used to evaluate student knowledge of definitions, related forms, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, and their ability to make inferences and use context clues when completing sentences.

*NOTE: This TEST will cover the words ALIENATE to OBSEQUY. It will be used to evaluate student knowledge of definitions, related forms, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, and their ability to make inferences and use context clues when completing sentences.

9/26 [A], 9/27 [B]: Quiz-"Blues Ain't No Mockin' Bird"

*NOTE: Students should study annotations, class notes, and Paedeia Discussion responses.

??? [A], ??? [B]: Quiz-Literary Elements

*NOTE: This will be a suprise quiz, meaning, the students should expect a quiz designed to evaluate their knowledge of these literary terms (i.e. plot, setting, figurative language, etc.) each day. This quiz WILL NOT be announced. Students are URGED to begin studying in-class notes and handouts.

*REMINDER: Students who miss tests/quizzes will have the same number of days to make up the test/quiz as those that were missed. Tests/quizzes can be made up after school or during lunch in room 204. Prior notification must be given.

Essays

9/28 [A], 9/29 [B]: Literary Analysis Essay-"A Sound Of Thunder"

*NOTE: Essay MUST be typed per course standards (double-spaced, name on back, Times New Roman, 12 point font, NO COVER PAGE, rubric attached.) Students must also include a typed proofreading sheet indicated successful mastery of standard EW1 (Prewriting). All rough draft material must be placed in student's academic folder.
