*NOTE: This quiz will cover the words AMALGAMATE to OPIATE. It will be used to evaluate student knowledge of definitions, related forms, parts of speech, synonyms/antonyms, and their ability to make inferences and use context clues when completing sentences.

9/16 [A], 9/19 [B]: Quiz-"The Cask Of Amontillado"

*NOTE: Students should study annotations, class notes, and Paedeia Discussion responses.

TBA [A], TBA [B]: Quiz-"Blues Ain't No Mockin' Bird"

*NOTE: Students should study annotations, class notes, and Paedeia Discussion responses.

*NOTE: This will be a suprise quiz, meaning, the students should expect a quiz designed to evaluate their knowledge of these literary terms (i.e. plot, setting, figurative language, etc.) each day. This quiz WILL NOT be announced. Students are URGED to begin studying in-class notes and handouts. REMINDER: Students who miss tests/quizzes will have the same number of days to make up the test/quiz as those that were missed. Tests/quizzes can be made up after school or during lunch in room 204. Prior notification must be given.

Well David, considering that this is the first time that you guys have written an essay of this type, I would say that it will take as many workshops as it takes until we get it right. Speed should never affect accuracy and quality.

The most important lesson that can be learned from my class is that following directions, learning essential concepts, adhering to the formats, proofreading your work for grammatical mistakes, and becoming a productive scholar through active reading and will assist you in many of life's endeavors.
