Essay Submission Guide

Students, please follow these guidelines when completing your "A Sound Of Thunder" Literary Analysis Essay.

1. Submit your stapled essay in the follow order:

1. Rubric/Prompt Sheet
2. EW1 Prewriting Sheet (typed)
3. "A Sound Of Thunder" Literary Analysis Essay (typed)

2. Follow these type specifications:

-Double spaced
-Times New Roman font
-12 point font
-Paper must be stapled in specified order (see above)
-Name must only appear on the back of the last page

3. Make sure that you follow the literary analysis essay model and format:

-Thesis statement should be underlined
-SDIs should be in [ ]
-All other parts of the essay must follow all other symbol rules (plot info sentences, supporting detail sentences, etc.)
-Example from text MUST be SINGLE SPACED
-All other commentary should be DOUBLE SPACED
-Elaboration commentary (the part where you discuss how and why your example connects to the main idea) should begin with some objective (factual text-based) commentary and then move into your subjective (opinionated) interpretation analysis. Remember, this part should be at least 8-10 sentences in length.
-Re-read your format guide sheet and sample essay. This is the reason I had you reviw it every night last week and the week prior.

4. PROOFREAD your work...I cannot stress this enough.

5. When you come back to class on your scheduled day please have the following:

1. Rough Draft Essay Sheet
2. EW1 Planning Sheet

5. If your run into ANY problems...SEE ME BEFORE THE DUE DATE. Students PLEASE do not wait until the day your essay is due.
