Those of you who participated in the 2013 Poem in Your Pocket Courtyard event deserve a rousing round of applause! You were AMAZING!
Your fearlessness, commitment to the art of poetry recitation, willingness to share your voice (in a most inhospitable environ) leaves me speechless.
Today, you were Expressionists; today, you exhibited the mantra of a society that I hold most dear...
"Writing is only the first step."
You exhibited that today...in your voice, in your bravery, in your ability to be the living embodiment of "poetry is an extension of the human soul."
Thank you. You impressed me. You impressed the members of The Expressionists, you impressed your peers, and I hope you impressed the most important person of all...yourself.
