Here are the poems written during Period 4A and Period 4B. The assignment required the writer to compose a piece of literature ON DEMAND, and write a detailed poem that represented the theme of discovery.
The poem was to have connected to the feeling after exploring new things and places, as well as experiencing a significant change.

…and then, it happened
At first,
I was nothing,
lost in my own confusion,
absent of any thought,
will,
desire-
I knew nothing,
though in some odd sense
I knew everything.
And then, it happened,
something changed,
something morphed my
childlike sensibilities
into a profound sense of self,
an understanding
that made me realize,
come to grips with,
see clearly.
Before this moment
life was empty,
devoid of purpose,
I wandered
through the great chasm
of night
seeking intent,
and then everything changed;
I fell in love
with the greatness before me,
reached out,
sought to draw it closer,
and I knew that day
was the first day
of the rest of my life.

At first, nothing
There was no way
to know how blind I was;
lost in my own, youthful
self-deluding ignorance,
alone in the world
without a course.
My ears,
unfamiliar with the sound
rejected it at first,
found it alien,
foreign,
and without
a sense of knowledge,
I continued to exist
in that place
isolated from the universe,
deaf to what could only
be described as other worldly.
And then, I opened,
allowed myself to succumb
to the notes, and
with placement of needle
in a groove
on a record,
one singular act,
my life changed-
I became un-tethered,
grew wings,
rose to a summit
within the notes,
within the sound of brass
and bass
and percussion.
I was changed;
no longer isolated
in my self-imposed desert
I was free from chained imprisonment,
free, to roam the sky.

We can actually add our poetry to here? (It's time to muster up some courage for me) How?
