I. Finish reading and annotating “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” (Skloot); if you have a digital copy of the text I strongly urge you to make annotation notes on sheets of paper. You will be thankful for these notes when it is time to build your 250 point Group Analysis Project.
II. Obtain a copy of Fahrenheit 451 (Bradbury); read and annotate Part 1. If you have a digital copy of the text I strongly urge you to make annotation notes on sheets of paper. DUE 11/25/13
III. Visit the Master Class on www.schoology.com and download a blank copy of the Fiction Analysis Outline. Use this outline when reading and annotating Fahrenheit 451. You will have three separate outlines for the three parts of the novel. DUE 11/25/13

DAILY ASSIGNMENTS
*NOTE: These are assignments that you should be doing whether we have homework or not. There is a level of expectation that requires you as the student to claim some responsibility for your academic career.
I. Study/Review SAT Vocabulary Terms (Lists 1, 2, and 3) You should review the following items:
*word definitions
*part(s) of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs)
*related forms (family words)
*synonyms and antonyms
*notes on how to distinguish the varied parts of speech.
*suffix endings and roots
*context clue types
In addition, students should prepare to work on additional in-class vocabulary assignments by reviewing words nightly. For test/quiz dates see calendar in class or upcoming dates post.
To prepare for the in-class study and tests/quizzes, students are encouraged to create 3x5 study cards or Extended Definition assignment.
II. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the literary terms. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of ALL terms. They should employ the same study method that is suggested for the SAT terms.
III. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the rules of grammar. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all rules.
IV. Bring materials/supplies to class; this includes copies of literary works studied, paper, pens, notebooks, writing journals, etc. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
V. You should conduct a nightly/daily review of the course orientation notes. You will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all course policies and procedures.
VI. You should conduct a nightly/daily review of the course standards. You will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all course standards.
