Though the bond between Mason McLeod and his family is undoubtably stronger than that which Chris McCandless felt toward his parents, the similarities remain unavoidable.
Both young men were raised in a family environment, both were well educated, both were captured by the beauty of Alaska, both sought after the beauty of nature, both never thought they would end up in the headlines.
Let us follow the example of the McLeod family and remain hopeful that their son's story will reach a much different, much better conclusion.
