1. Use the prescribed type specifications to complete the following writing assignment:
Writing Assignment #1: The Diagnostic Piece

Task: Produce a well-written two page typed paper on the following: the effects and challenges that students face when moving from middle to high school. You must develop a paper that is well organized, uses transitions, and has clear details. You must also follow the class writing specifications that were indicated in handout form. This is not a first person account; you are writing from the third person perspective.
Objective: Based on your ability to write a well-written paper, you should be able to write an essay that clearly conveys your thoughts and ideas. You should also be able to show your knowledge of transitions and the basic conventions of grammar. NOTE: Please use all distributed writing guides.
Standards: EW1 and EW2
