10/10 [A], 10/07 [B]: 9 Weeks Examination *NOTE: This will be a comprehensive exam that will cover the following: 1.) SAT Vocabulary (Lists 1 and 2, or ALIENATE to OBSEQUY), synonyms, antonyms, definitions, context clues, and related forms; 2.) Literary Elements; 3.) Inferencing skills; 4.) Ability to identify the main idea, "The Most Dangerous Game", "The Lady or, the Tiger", "A Sound of Thunder", and "Cask of the Amontillado"; and 5.) proofreading skills.
10/6 [A], 10/7 [B]: Quiz-"The Scarlet Ibis"
*NOTE: Students should study annotations, class notes, and Paedeia Discussion responses.
??? [A], ??? [B]: Quiz-Literary Elements: Rhetorical Terms
*NOTE: This will be a suprise quiz, meaning, the students should expect a quiz designed to evaluate their knowledge of these rhetorical terms each day. This quiz WILL NOT be announced. Students are URGED to begin studying in-class notes and handouts.
*REMINDER: Students who miss tests/quizzes will have the same number of days to make up the test/quiz as those that were missed. Tests/quizzes can be made up after school or during lunch in room 204. Prior notification must be given.
