TONIGHT'S ASSIGNMENTS*
*NOTE: The following assignments should be completed prior to the next class meeting or by the posted due date. Please read all standards and directions when completing.
1. Start memorizing your poem. Memorization of 25% of your poem is DUE 3/13/15.
2. Continue looking for a poem for the Poetry Recitation Project. Use the format guide sheet and online resources to aid you. PLEASE submit your poem and biography in the EXACT SAME format as the model…your submission will be rejected if it does not “look” like the model. Staple the biography to the back of the poem. Make sure your name is on the back of the biography…do not write on the front. FINAL SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE 3/11/15.
3. If your poem has been approved you need to begin analyzing the poem. Assignment #1 of the Writing Assignment for the poetry project is due after Spring Break. Use the introduced annotation technique and the TP-CASTT Method to analyze your poem. The annotated poem is DUE 3/24/15 (50 points)
4. IMPORTANT!!! Review your notes from today. Look at the Poetry Unit Resources and Poetry Recitation Project Resources in the Materials section of the MC.
5. Review previously discussed SAT Vocabulary concepts (e.g., suffix endings, roots, types of context clues).
