1. Review the SAT Vocabulary List 5 terms. Review the SAT Vocabulary concepts (e.g., suffix endings, roots, types of context clues).

2. Edit, expand, and type your Fahrenheit 451 Topic #3 Response. Upload your typed copy to www.turnitin.com. DUE 2/27/15


3. Upload your copy of the Fahrenheit 451 Topic #3 Response to Write to Learn. Since you have already typed your response, copy and paste it to the assignment and press Get Feedback to have your work scored. DUE 2/27/15

1. Are you ready for the Fahrenheit 451 test? TEST 3/9


2. IMPORTANT!!! The high-stakes, computer-based Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) will be held on MARCH 6 @ 8:10 AM IN THE MEDIA CENTER. It will be a 90 minute computer based writing assessment which requires 10th graders to pass in order to graduate from high school. 


You will be taking the assessment as a springboard to your 10th grade test. Your score will serve as a measuring instrument for next year. This is a REAL test…you need to be concerned about your preparation.

3. Schedule your Post-Discussion Conference NOW. Send me an email with a proposed date and time. ALL CONFERENCES MUST BE COMPLETED BY MARCH 6. You WILL lose 25 points if you do not schedule and attend the meeting.

DAILY ASSIGNMENTS

*NOTE: These are assignments that you should be doing whether we have homework or not. There is a level of expectation that requires you as the student to claim some responsibility for your academic career.

A. Study/Review SAT Vocabulary Terms (Lists 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) You should review the following items:

*word definitions
*part(s) of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs)
*related forms (family words)
*synonyms and antonyms
*notes on how to distinguish the varied parts of speech.
*suffix endings and roots
*context clue types

In addition, students should prepare to work on additional in-class vocabulary assignments by reviewing words nightly. For test/quiz dates see calendar in class or upcoming dates post.

To prepare for the in-class study and tests/quizzes, students are encouraged to create 3x5 study cards or Extended Definition assignment.

B. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the literary terms. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of ALL terms. They should employ the same study method that is suggested for the SAT terms.

C. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the rules of grammar. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all rules.

D. Bring materials/supplies to class; this includes copies of literary works studied, paper, pens, notebooks, writing journals, etc. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

E. You should conduct a nightly/daily review of the course orientation notes. You will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all course policies and procedures.

F. You should conduct a nightly/daily review of the course standards. You will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all course standards.
