1. Register in correct online course on www.turnitin.com (either period 1B or 2B) and www.schoology.com (either period 1B or 2B; all must register in the MC). DUE NOW.
2. Acquire materials on course materials list. DUE NOW
3. Obtain (e.g. buy or borrow) a copy of Into the Wild (Krakauer); begin reading Chapters 1-9. Use your pre-existing annotation skills to annotate the book. BOOK DUE 8/29, READING DUE 9/11
*NOTE: see me ASAP if you have trouble obtaining a copy of the book.
4. Begin reading the Into the Wild reference packet. Annotate important information found in the material. Use your own annotation style until I introduce you to the "Knight Way of Annotating" soon.
5. Review your SAT Vocabulary List 1 terms. Don't attempt to memorize the terms. Use our conversation on structural analysis (e.g. roots, suffixes, and prefixes) to study the terms.
6. Complete the Discussion Board Assignment #1: Essential Question Response #2. This will be completed in your Schoology class (not in the MC). Your initial response is DUE NOW; your response to at least two student responses is DUE 8/29 @11:59 PM.

*notes on how to distinguish the varied parts of speech.
