I. Organize your notebook. SEE NOTEBOOK STRUCTURE CHART (on blog). AS INDICATED IN CLASS THIS SHOULD BE PRIORITY #1!
II. Prepare for the continuation of the Unit Lesson on Poetry ('Poetry is Life: Discovering Poetry'); review the Unit Lesson notes collected in class today. Prepare for possible informal assessments (quizzes, writing assignments, cold text analysis work, etc.) throughout the unit study.
III. Begin memorizing your recitation project poem (after the TP-CASTT analysis). The 100% (ALL lines) deadline is 4/10 [A], 4/11 [B]
IV. Revise and rewrite your Analysis Paper for your Recitation Poem. Make changes based on the Peer Evaluation notes and Peer Conference discussion. DUE 4/10 [A], 4/11 [B] (ICC/TINC)
V. Complete the TP-CASTT Analysis Assignment for "Our Quiet Conflict" (Knight) as discussed and assigned during class. DUE NEXT CLASS MEETING

DAILY ASSIGNMENTS
*NOTE: These are assignments that you should be doing whether we have homework or not. There is a level of expectation that requires you as the student to claim some responsibility for your academic career.
I. Study/Review SAT Vocabulary Terms (LISTS 5, 6, 7 and 8) You should review the following items:
-word definitions
-part(s) of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs)
-related forms (family words)
-synonyms and antonyms
-notes on how to distinguish the varied parts of speech.
In addition, students should prepare to work on additional in-class vocabulary assignments by reviewing words nightly. For test/quiz dates see calendar in class or upcoming dates post.
To prepare for the in-class study and tests/quizzes, students are encouraged to create 3x5 study cards or Extended Definition assignment.
II. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the literary terms. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of ALL terms. They should employ the same study method that is suggested for the SAT terms.
III. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the rules of grammar. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all rules.
IV. Bring materials/supplies to class; this includes copies of literary works studied, paper, pens, notebooks, writing journals, etc. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
V. You should conduct a nightly/daily review of the course orientation notes. You will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all course policies and procedures.
