I. Organize your notebook. SEE NOTEBOOK STRUCTURE CHART (on blog). AS INDICATED IN CLASS THIS SHOULD BE PRIORITY #1!
II. Study and review the notes from the Unit Lessons on Prose Literature, Literary Analysis Writing, and Grammar. Prepare for additional writing assignments, analysis assignments, and informal assessments.
III. Obtain (purchase or borrow) a copy of Fahrenheit 451 (Bradbury); bring copy of the book to class each day. You may read it as a follow-up assignment during class.
Begin reading the novel...the ENTIRE book (Parts 1, 2, and 3) MUST be finished by NOW!
IV. Upload the SAT List 5 Extended Definition Assignment to www.turnitin.com. DUE 1/27 [A], 1/28 [B] @ 11:59 PM
V. Prepare for District Level Assessment next class meeting.
VI. Complete the Analysis Outline for Fahrenheit 451 (Part I); please read through the directions and write detailed, supported responses (add paper if necessary). Use your in-text annotation notes (the ones you wrote as you read the text) while you complete this assignment.

DAILY ASSIGNMENTS
*NOTE: These are assignments that you should be doing whether we have homework or not. There is a level of expectation that requires you as the student to claim some responsibility for your academic career.
I. Study/Review SAT Vocabulary Terms (LIST 5) You should review the following items:
-word definitions
-part(s) of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs)
-related forms (family words)
-synonyms and antonyms
-notes on how to distinguish the varied parts of speech.
In addition, students should prepare to work on additional in-class vocabulary assignments by reviewing words nightly. For test/quiz dates see calendar in class or upcoming dates post.
To prepare for the in-class study and tests/quizzes, students are encouraged to create 3x5 study cards or Extended Definition assignment.
II. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the literary terms. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of ALL terms. They should employ the same study method that is suggested for the SAT terms.
III. Students should conduct a nightly/daily review of the rules of grammar. Students will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all rules.
IV. Bring materials/supplies to class; this includes copies of literary works studied, paper, pens, notebooks, writing journals, etc. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
V. You should conduct a nightly/daily review of the course orientation notes. You will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all course policies and procedures.
VI. You should conduct a nightly/daily review of the course standards. You will be expected to show adequate mastery and knowledge of all course standards.
